Huge thank you to David! Our brand new custom wings and side curtains on our Robalo R272 CC look awesome! Should have done this sooner! Our questioned were listened to and answered honestly. David made sure we were comfortable with everything from concept to completion. He said don't hesitate to text or call with any questions at all and when I did he answered. Historically people are quick to complain when they aren't satisfied but not willing to offer gratitude and compliments. I felt this experience worthy to give a testimonial, which I'm not one to do lol. I'd recommend David to anyone. Well done. Thank you!! 🍻🚤⚓️👏

Premium work with attention to detail! From the start Yanni was very responsive on the phone and when we met on my boat he explained everything in detail. Throughout the process he kept me updated on his progress even around fighting the challenging winds. Despite the weather challenges he went the extra mile to make sure everything fit perfectly. I appreciated all the detail but especially how he made everything user friendly which can be unique to each boat. For example having extra tabs so it's easier to grab in tight areas and added snaps for convenience keeping it's functionality in mind. Overall I highly recommend Yanni and will be reaching out to him for any future canvas work.

Highly recommend Canvas by Yanni. Quality work, quick turn around, and fair pricing - couldn't ask for more. Needed boat covers repaired and took to the Somers Point store. Several grommets replaced, canvas rip & seam tears, support poles attachments replaced, felt seat padding re-sewn and installed a new strap between canvas and boat arch, which was all done and returned in a few days. Everything looks like new. This is second time (previously a bimini top repair) and will use again.

I recently had the canvas on my boat redone by Canvas by Yanni, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The craftsmanship is absolutely top-notch—the finished product looks incredible and completely transformed the appearance of my boat. Yanni was professional, easy to work with, and clearly takes pride in his work. He got everything done much quicker than I expected without cutting any corners, which really impressed me. On top of that, his pricing was very fair for the quality of work he delivers. What stood out the most was how he treats his customers—with honesty, respect, and great communication throughout the entire process. It's rare to find someone who combines skill, efficiency, and excellent customer service so well. I highly recommend Canvas by Yanni to anyone looking for high-quality marine canvas work. You won't be disappointed!

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Call or visit the shop and we'll talk through what you have and what you want. If you need a new cover or bimini top, we measure your boat and discuss the fabrics and options. If you have an existing cover that needs work, bring it in or describe the damage and we can give you guidance on whether it's a repair or time for something new.

Repairs usually take a few days depending on the scope and our workload. Custom builds take longer since we measure, design and fabricate. Give us a call with details about your project and we can give you an honest timeline. We keep you updated as the work moves forward.

We work with marine-grade fabrics built to handle sun, salt and weather. We can show you samples and discuss what works best for your boat, your budget and how you use the vessel. The right fabric for fishing seats is different from canvas for covers, and we help you pick what makes sense.

Yes. If you have a bimini top, boat cover or canvas work from another shop that needs repair, bring it in. We can fix rips, tears, seams, grommets and other damage. Some repairs are straightforward; others need the full cover off the boat. We assess the damage and let you know what we can do.

We can meet you at your boat for measurement and consultation. For repairs and fitting, sometimes the boat comes to us, and sometimes we work on it where it sits. Call to discuss the best approach for your project and boat location.

We are based in Somers Point and work throughout the area. If you are in or around Atlantic County or the surrounding shore communities, reach out to see if we can help with your canvas work. Call (609) 742-8536 to confirm we can reach your location.

Serving Atlantic City

Atlantic City sits on Absecon Island with direct access to the ocean through Absecon Inlet and to the back bays behind the island. Boats docked here sit close to open water, so salt spray and steady ocean wind are part of daily life. Marinas on the bay side shelter boats from waves but not from sun or wind. Canvas in this setting needs strong stitching, well-placed fasteners and fabric rated for marine use, because salt crystals and UV wear thread and coatings faster than inland conditions. Gardner's Basin and the bay-side marinas hold everything from small fishing boats to larger cruisers, and each needs canvas built around its own frame and hardware.

Why Atlantic City customers need this work

Boats that run through an inlet take spray over the bow, and enclosures and side curtains are what keep the helm dry. Wind coming off the ocean tests every snap and zipper on a bimini or enclosure. When one fastener lets go, the load shifts to the next one and tears can spread. Regular repair of seams, grommets and attachment points keeps the whole setup working through the season. Well-placed snaps, reinforced corners and seams sewn with UV-resistant thread help canvas handle that kind of exposure.
