Huge thank you to David! Our brand new custom wings and side curtains on our Robalo R272 CC look awesome! Should have done this sooner! Our questioned were listened to and answered honestly. David made sure we were comfortable with everything from concept to completion. He said don't hesitate to text or call with any questions at all and when I did he answered. Historically people are quick to complain when they aren't satisfied but not willing to offer gratitude and compliments. I felt this experience worthy to give a testimonial, which I'm not one to do lol. I'd recommend David to anyone. Well done. Thank you!! 🍻🚤⚓️👏

Common questions and tips from our work with Somers Point customers.
- What makes a good fishing seat on a boat?
- A good fishing seat fits the space without blocking rod holders, walkways or the work area. It sits at a comfortable height for the helm or the cockpit, drains water instead of holding it, and mounts solidly so it does not shift in chop. Marine vinyl and closed-cell or quick-dry foam hold up better than household materials in sun and spray.
- Can worn boat seats be reupholstered instead of replaced?
- Often, yes. If the seat base and frame are solid, new foam and marine vinyl can make a seat look and feel new. If the base is rotted or the frame is cracked, building a new seat is usually the better move. Bring the seat in or send details, and we can tell you which way makes sense.
Tip
Keep marine upholstery in good shape
Rinse seats with fresh water after trips to get salt off, and use a cleaner made for marine vinyl rather than harsh household products. Keep seats covered when the boat is not in use, since UV is the main cause of cracking and fading. If you see a split in the vinyl, get it repaired before water soaks into the foam underneath.
