Huge thank you to David! Our brand new custom wings and side curtains on our Robalo R272 CC look awesome! Should have done this sooner! Our questioned were listened to and answered honestly. David made sure we were comfortable with everything from concept to completion. He said don't hesitate to text or call with any questions at all and when I did he answered. Historically people are quick to complain when they aren't satisfied but not willing to offer gratitude and compliments. I felt this experience worthy to give a testimonial, which I'm not one to do lol. I'd recommend David to anyone. Well done. Thank you!! 🍻🚤⚓️👏

Premium work with attention to detail! From the start Yanni was very responsive on the phone and when we met on my boat he explained everything in detail. Throughout the process he kept me updated on his progress even around fighting the challenging winds. Despite the weather challenges he went the extra mile to make sure everything fit perfectly. I appreciated all the detail but especially how he made everything user friendly which can be unique to each boat. For example having extra tabs so it's easier to grab in tight areas and added snaps for convenience keeping it's functionality in mind. Overall I highly recommend Yanni and will be reaching out to him for any future canvas work.

Highly recommend Canvas by Yanni. Quality work, quick turn around, and fair pricing - couldn't ask for more. Needed boat covers repaired and took to the Somers Point store. Several grommets replaced, canvas rip & seam tears, support poles attachments replaced, felt seat padding re-sewn and installed a new strap between canvas and boat arch, which was all done and returned in a few days. Everything looks like new. This is second time (previously a bimini top repair) and will use again.

I recently had the canvas on my boat redone by Canvas by Yanni, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The craftsmanship is absolutely top-notch—the finished product looks incredible and completely transformed the appearance of my boat. Yanni was professional, easy to work with, and clearly takes pride in his work. He got everything done much quicker than I expected without cutting any corners, which really impressed me. On top of that, his pricing was very fair for the quality of work he delivers. What stood out the most was how he treats his customers—with honesty, respect, and great communication throughout the entire process. It's rare to find someone who combines skill, efficiency, and excellent customer service so well. I highly recommend Canvas by Yanni to anyone looking for high-quality marine canvas work. You won't be disappointed!

About Custom Boat Canvas

Common questions and tips from our work with Somers Point customers.

What is the difference between a bimini top and an enclosure?
A bimini top is an open canvas roof on a folding frame that shades the cockpit or helm. An enclosure adds side curtains, and sometimes front and rear panels, that zip or snap to the bimini to block wind, spray and rain. Wings are side panels that extend shade and protection from a T-top or hardtop. Many boats start with a bimini and add curtains later.
Why does custom canvas need to be measured on the boat?
Every boat is a little different, even within the same model. Rails, windshields, rod holders, antennas and hardware all affect where canvas sits and where snaps and zippers go. Measuring on the boat, or making a pattern right on it, lets the canvas fit tight without strain points. A tight fit sheds water, flaps less in the wind and lasts longer than a loose, generic fit.

Tip

Plan new canvas around how you use the boat

Before you order new canvas, think about how you actually run the boat. Where do you grab the cover when you pull it off? Do you fish from the stern and need clear space? Do you trailer the boat? Answers like these shape where snaps, pull tabs, zippers and support poles go. Small details like an extra tab in a tight corner make the canvas much easier to use.
